Eat, party and chill in Wrocław

So far all my clubs/cafés reviews have been written in my mother tongue, so here a short sum-up for foreigners coming to Wrocław: Where to eat, party and chill out over a cup of coffee in Wrocław? (I imagine it as a post you would like to have bookmarked on a day 1 of your Erasmus/internship in Wrocław)

Eat

You will find various restaurants at Rynek. Of course, they are touristy and pricey (as for Polish standards but if you come form Western Europe you will find everything cheap in Poland). If none of them is to your liking, go north. Many restaurants and bars are situated along Odrzańska street, and parallel streets: especially Więzienna, in so called Galeria Italiana building (where not only Italian restaurants are situated) but also Kuźnicza and Szewska.

Party

Just go to Rynek and whichever street you take it will lead you to a party place. (OK, I'm exaggerating a bit: following 90% of streets starting in Rynek, you will come to a club).

Party places are scattered over Stare Miasto. You will find bigger 'club clusters' at Rynek, at Plac Solny and around it (e.g. Schody Donikąd and Salvador), and at św. Mikołaja 8-11 (near St. Elizabeth church).

Last but not least (definitely not least!) there is (in)famous Pasaż Niepolda, between Ruska and św. Antoniego street (just behind Nowe Horyzonty cinema). I think it embodies a cliché of Erasmus students partying in the heads of Eramsus programme enemies (I mean those people who reduce Erasmus to drinking for taxpayers' money). Some clubs there are trashy at times, but probably everyone staying in Wrocław will party in Pasaż sooner or later.

Chill out

The best place for a cup of coffee or tea, or a glass of wine (accompanied by a piece of cake or toasts) is an area of św. Antoniego and Włodkowica streets, and courtyards between the two. It is so called 'Quarter of Four Denominations', due to its multicultural history. On each of these two streets there is a dozen of cafés in very different styles, so everyone will find what they like (I must admit that there are a lot of fancy hipster places there!). Mleczarnia, Szajba, Central Café, Karavan, Bike Cafe (where additionally the tourist information is situated), Czekoladziarnia (a place dedicated to chocolate), Bułka z masłem, Włodkowica 21... - these are just examples!

Another area with high pub concentration (especially is you really look for a pub) is Bogusławskiego street (whose name probably doesn't say anything to you) near Arkady shopping centre (that you probably all know). Little pubs are situated under a railway line, which gives a nice sensation when you sip your glass of bier and a train is passing over your head.

Of course many coffeehouses are situated at or near Rynek (especially north of it).

If you want to explore further than just main tourist area, there are some cafés in Śródmieście district, e.g. Pestka and Bema Café, north of Odra river, but scattered, 10-15 minutes' walks from one another.
