Salsa in Wrocław. Dance schools and salsa parties

What you need to know first is that salsa is extremely popular in Poland nowadays, especially salsa Cuban-style (in Poland it's usually referred to as 'salsa cubana').

It is considered as a dance that connects people, or to put it bluntly - a dance providing excellent pick-up opportunities. And in my humble opinion this image is not just a cliché, it's founded on empirical evidence!

But if you want to learn salsa on your own, 'salsa solo' courses are also to be found. Bachata and kizomba courses are available in many schools as well.

There are many salsa schools in Wrocław. I attended classes at Torres School, which is the most popular one, and I can recommend it. A lot of teachers come from Cuba, and foreigners might feel more comfortable there, as it's not a place where only Polish is spoken.

Regarding salsa parties (salsoteka - a word worth learning!), it is said that every day there is at least one in Wrocław. (I haven't checked myself, but it's highly probable).

The most well-known salsa clubs are probably Casa de la Musica and Lewitacja. The first one is situated on Rynek, so you won't have problems to find it, even on your first day in Wrocław. The place is nice, music is great, only prices are pretty high (I mean - for Polish people). In Lewitacja I have never been. Another quite popular place is Antidotum.

But there are many more salsa places in Wrocław. Here you can find a list of all the salsa parties (only in Polish, but I bet you will figure it out, as a club name is the most important information!). On the Wrocław official website I found information that salsoteki take place also in BauBar and 13.
